Where the skies are bright, the tarmac is smooth and the send is full.

Piassa uses stories surrounding the one thing we cannot get back if climate change moves further into climate destruction: the outdoors.

Through stories of climbing el cap, surfing cloudbreak, bikepacking the baja divide or cycling route 66. We aim to find a world where the skies are bright and the send is full

There is something ineffable about the experience of existing in such an inspiring and powerful place that is simultaneously so soothing and gentle. The Valley, in particular, is an indescribable place that leads to indescribable experiences, and that pervades whether you seek to actively engage with the expansive trail systems and looming rock walls, or if you choose to coexist passively by simply being mindful and present. To experience Yosemite, in any way, is to blur the line between self and world - to let go of one’s ego as it dissolves into the expansive landscape around you.

I came to Joshua Tree to reset after a season of relentless busyness, to remember what it feels like to move at the speed of the earth. To walk among these ancient stones and find, if not answers, the space to let the questions breathe.

Reset. The word "desert" is almost in there somewhere. Somehow, I knew coming to the desert was the reset I needed after an unbelievably wild autumn—a season I wouldn't trade for anything. But still, I longed for the desert to reset fully, to escape the churn of life and slow down.

Ready to take the next step?

Sometimes the fight to save the planet feels like salmon swimming upstream. But what we need is thousands of conversations being started over cups of coffee, breaking of bread, between sets and as we tie in for the next belay.

Brian Havenner

The journey to founding Piassa Climate Media was winding, and the tarmac was not always smooth. After receiving an MBA in social Entrepreneurship, founding two agencies and launching the US operations of the largest indigenously led East Africa based NGO, Brian set his eyes on helping tell stories about saving the one thing we cannot get back if climate change becomes climate destruction, the outdoors. His on ramp to this field is through his writing on the natural world, rock climbing and trail running.

Vishal Bobba

Vishal is a multi-passionate adventurer and creative whose work explores the spirit of adventure within the diverse landscapes of the western United States.

His life is a tribute to the places, activities, and people that facilitate a return to flow, a state of effortless existence - of simply being.

Let’s meet up in real life to share in the beauty of the natural world.
